For 50+ years we have been leading programs to address child poverty in Puerto Rico. With innovation at the front and center of our mission, we have evolved into the largest anti-poverty movement on the Island.

At the Platform for Social Impact, each of our affiliated organizations focuses on tackling key parts of this complex systemic issue so that vulnerable families can access opportunities for socio-economic mobility. Our network includes the Boys & Girls Clubs of Puerto Rico, the Youth Development Institute, Vimenti and Project Makers. With a bench of experienced operators, we collectively impact over 15,000 children and 3,000 low-income adults annually.

As Puerto Rico once again begins a recovery process, we must reflect on the series of ongoing disasters our people have endured. The devastation of Hurricanes Irma and María, the earthquakes, the COVID-19 pandemic, and now Hurricane Fiona, continue to expose the urgency for real change. We need to invest in solutions at scale that improve the quality of life in our communities long-term, and not just until the next disaster occurs.

Our movement stands for the research and implementation of sustainable solutions to poverty through quality education, advocacy, economic development, and impact investing.
